I've always tossed around the idea of getting one, so since my 20th birthday was yesterday I bought myself a present this past weekend.

I bought it off a guy I work with at my squadron. It's an '07 Matte Black GSXR600 with 900 miles on it. Nothing real crazy yet, just a Double Bubble windscreen, stainless brake lines, brand new Bridgestone tires, lowered 3 inches, slight extension, Vortex front and rear sprocket, 530 conversion. Picked it up for $7000.

I have mild plans for it, like a full TiForce exhaust, Power Commander and fender delete. Also found a set of replica MotoGP fairings I want, something to put on once in a while to change it up a bit.

The Supra is still my number one, but I've decided to just keep doing maintenance work on it for now until I have the money to tear it down and start my build and ride the bike when it's nice out.

Now for the pictures. Sorry, some aren't the best. I just snapped them quick when I brought it home.

And one of mine and my friend's '03 R6 Limited.

Yeah I already am haha.
But seriously, I know it's not something to fuck around with. During my most recent trip home to New Jersey at 3 a.m. on 80 with no cars on the road, I came across 4 cop cars all pointed at a spot on the concrete divider. There was a guy bashed into, with a sheet draped over him, and an R1 impaled in the opposite guard rail 200 feet down the road. Completely changed the way I look at a sportbike. I've gained a lot more respect for them now, and I don't plan on fucking my life away anytime soon.

Ben - The Sup still looks the same, lol. As soon as we get a nice day here in VA I'm gonna wash them up and take pictures of them together.

Be careful.....more careful than that..........nope, even more careful than that.

A friend of mine lost his right leg about a year ago, because some woman pulled out in front of him when he was about fifty feet away. He never even had time to hit the brakes.

AF1JZ - I'm Navy. I'm guessing MSF is a Riders' Safety Course? If so, then yes, I'll be going this weekend to switch the title, register it and do the course.

Joe - I'm not too crazy about the extension either. It doesn't bother me too much though. If it gets a little warmer this weekend I was going to adjust it back some.

Kyle - Thanks man. No matter what bike I got though, it would have had an R, hahaha.

Yea, MSF is the Motorcycle Safety Foundation. We have to take the BRC (Basic Riders Course) and the ERC (Experienced Riders Course). Sportbike riders here at McGuire AFB have to take both those courses and a third base driven course.

Oh ok. I just need to get my regular license from the DMV here in VA, then take a Basic Safety Course here on base and that's it. To ride on base we are required to wear helmet, jacket, gloves and boots, and when it's dark, a reflective vest.

I survived owning a ZX-11 back in the day. Never again..... way to dangerous for me. Stay safe and watch out for the 99% of the "other fools" who wont see you.
