Well i am removing about 75% of the wires toyota put in my car such as.

ABS
TEMS
AC
ENGINE HARNESS
GAUGE CLUSTER
FUEL PUMP AND SENDING UNIT
POWER SEATS
POWER ANTENNA
CRUISE CONTROLL
And im sure there is more.

Today i stared at the fuse box that is normaly under the hood. Im removing every thing im not suing depining it from the thlugs and from all junction block so i will be left with only what i need.

And here is what i did today.

wouldnt it have been faster and easier to just throw away all the wiring and buy a painless kit wit hthe number of circuits you need and wire it up that way? i understand thats an added cost, just thinking it would clean things up and make it much easier.

Dont know if i should ask this here, but it seems appropriate to me. How do you remember where all of the nuts and bolts came from? I know bag and label them, but you can only go so far with that.

only a few diff sizes of bolts actually used on the car believe it or not and a couple diff lengths. not hard to figure out which size bolt and what length is needed for each thing. lol. helps if youve pulled apart more then one supra though. i just dump all the bolts in a coffee can. no labels or bags. only blts that get put a specific place is important ones like head bolts or main bolts etc.. that have to go back the exact order they were removed etc...

Depending on what they are i bag them or put them back

Well i only worked on it today for about 45 min but the whole back section of the car is pretty much done. Leaving the dash harness where most of the wires come out of. So we shall start that tomorrow.

I can answer in lbs ;)

I already did this but a different approach. I myself actually tossed any harness that is toyota away save for specific circuits for the A/C, Wipers (which was fun isolating from the harness) and that is it.

The front engine harness plus the remenants of the front cabin electrical harness (not including A/C circuit and Wiper Circuit) plus tossing of all junction boxes, fuse boxes, relay boxes etc was a whopping 30 lbs.. .that is a heck of alot of copper and copper is paying real well at the scrap yards now a days!
