snow is on its way and im scared as hell to drive the suppie in it so im scraping the bottom of the barrel for some spare cash to get a winter car, i went to a tow yard today and they have an 86 mitsubishi mighty max w/ 100k on it and straight body. thing is no key, no title, bidding starts at $100. its a 4x4 so im going to the auction this afternoon to see who's bidding and if i can start it. i noticed were asking about other cars allot i figure this could be where we ask about random car reliability instead of starting individual threads for each car. if i dont buy this im going to another auciton next week see if i can get a 92 nissan pickup.

any advice on how to hotwire a 86 mitsubishi pickup? probably end up mounting a switch on the ignition wires so i can just flick the switch. its gonna be a ghetto ass ride i tell you what.

sounds like a plan, my dad did the flip switch thing on his 76 chevy truck. it was a ghetto farm truck but did what it had to do.

You can also get a simple ignition with a key at an auto parts store. It's not free, but it's still cheap and offers at least a LITTLE "security".

at 200K that turbo is probably about to take a s**t, if it hasn't already. i would go over it veeeeeeeeeeeeeery carefully if you are considering buying it... i'd be hesitant, although that is an amazing car.

too late, bought it the other night.

havent driven it more than 8 miles yet, and i went over the engine REALLY carefully took it up to 5500 on test drive and had a friend follow looking for any kind of smoke, it boosts perfect, i already got a boost leek but i found it and im just waiting for the weekend to flush everythin on the car, so far its just been sitting in the driveway waiting for me to get arround to cleaning it this weekend. oil, water pump, timing belt, coolant, plugs, tranny fluid, vacuuming, and a good wash and wax before i even start driving it.

drove home it pulled flawlessly, starts like a charm, and idles smooth as the supra.

will post pics soon, i love turbo's.
