Just came back from the movie theatre... what do I have to say...?!?!

Well, first off it's not a bad movie. It isn't THAT great but it isn't bad either. If I would have to rate it, I'd give it a 7.5/10... maybe 8/10.

What did I like about it?
Of course I loved the scary things... when she is speaking in tongues (one of it was german which was rather entertaining for me), the whole exorcism, the scary things in between etc, all those shocking lil moments. Best scene for me was when she was telling the priest all the names of the demons that she's possessed with... that was really impressive.
Also I liked Jennifer Carpenters acting... she did a really good job, especially considering the different "tongues"...
Ummmm, oh and I like the fact that this movie makes you think about certain things. I'm not religious at all but right now I have to think about it... is it possible to be possessed, is it just an illness... do demons/ the devil exist... does god exist? etc blabla

What I didn't like?
The beginning is kinda lame... I dunno what else to say to that but yeah, the first 30min are quite boring but then it gets way better.
Well, for me personally it was too much courtroom drama and too little scary things... but I'm obsessed with scary movies, I love them to death, so there isn't really that much that can shock or scare me. But it was alright... not many scary things (IMO) but the few things that are there... oh yeah... they're cool.
Also in the end there was a lil too much "bible stuff"... I'm not gonna explain that any further cos I don't want to ruin things for those who still wanna see the movie.

So yeah, pretty good movie, I liked it alot... I'd watch it again but then just on DVD so I can ffwd to the stuff I like :), hehehe.

Who ever heard aboput a horror movie being PG-13? Blasphemous.. and not in a good way.

They really needed to make the content in it wothy of and R rating. Nothing has really been able to top the reaction that The Exorcist got when it was new. My dad saw it when he was 17 and says he couldn't look himself in the mirror for weeks. There is nothing out anymore that really scares the crap out of people. There are movies that give me the creeps, but nothing that really strikes terror in my heart.

Grudge = GAY.... thats about it.....

Anyway, would U recomend seeing this movie? I thought it looked half-way decent.... and if they question rather or not it was an illness, and not an actual "possesion", I think that would be more of a thinking movie than a just sit and watch kind.... which is what I'm all about. I got enough religion from the passion (as expected) and I wouldn't expect, or want it from a "horror" film.

Anyway, is it worth going to see?

i think its rated pg-13 cos its not just a dumb horror movie where demons and monsters slaughter people... most of the movie takes place in the courtroom... there are not a whole lot of scary scenes (ok, i have a high tolerance...) but still its a very good movie. it's trying to show you 2 different perspectives... the religious side and the scientific side and you have to figure out what you want to believe... it really makes you think.

i had a great conversation with my bf afterwards cos im not religious at all but he is... a lil bit...
