Whats the difference between a Supra and a Cressida...
Ive heard that for the Cressida, the block is the same, but the head is different.
Can anyone explain to me the real difference? Does anyone know the hp or tq of the cressida... is it just a 7mge?
Thanks for the help

Cressida = 7MGE

I remember reading though that the Cressida has 190 HP though, but I forgot why or if it really is true.

Ive always heard the Cressidas had a more restrictive exhaust, but I don't know how true that is nor what the restriction in the exhaust would be?

They share powertrain, but not chasis'. And the long block differences initially where in the cam profile, ACIS, and yes, that exhaust.

As stated, the cressidas are 7MGEs with a stricter exhaust.
We worked on a few cressidas in our time and even built a 400hp 5speed 7MGTE version with the supras LSD rear end. That car was faster than an equivalently built supra. Couldn't figure out why... but lot more unstable than a supra of course.
The 7MGE in the cressidas were the smoothest engines i've even driven, i think it's thanx in part to the balanced front pulleys that they ran stock.
Great cars.

some of the jdm and australian spec came with LSD, digital instrument (http://www.jzx81.net/dash.html)cluster, 12 stack CD changer, TEMS, ect. some of the parts may be interchangable from a MRK2 and also MRK3 supra. am trying to adot a MRK3 LSD on mine. cressidas come with 3 point mount and MRK3 came with a 4 point mount. and yes, they also came with a 7MGE with 190 horses, front sump. pretty much, its what we call a four door supra with all the luxury. they got some killer cressida in australia doing 10 sec in 1/4 miles. they even got V8 cressidas....1UZ.

heres another link thats got pics and a lot of technical references.

Yes, his Cressida is very raw at the moment. Can't wait to see all those bugs worked out. When this car takes off, 1st/2nd/3rd Chirps/spins as you hear it fly by.....
I am removing my 1jz from my Supra soon...and will be going 1.5 jz. The 1jz just might find a home in my Cressida as well...:naughty: :naughty:
