Ok Fellas, we've all had that one car that we wished we kept it a little bit longer. Doesn't have to be the best car you ever had, just that one that got away too early. Post 'em up!!!!

For me it would have to be my old 87 Supra. It had a lot of 92 Supra parts swapped. This was back in 2002-2003. I was still in college and had put a lot of work into this car. Had more work to do like wheels and suspension etc, but nonetheless, it was coming along pretty well. I sold it because back then didn't have space to park it and had to keep it on the street.

Just painted - Midnight blue Metallic.

Freshly rebuilt motor with less then 1K. Notice how all the covers are color coded to match.

Custom gauges and the dash outline was also painted to match

Reflective vinyl sign. Made it myself. The design was accomplished between my buddy and I.

Funny thing is that, I know where the guy lives, I still have his number...and worst yet, after I moved I realized I still have a spare key and the alarm key chain.

ummm, maybe I should call this guy, see how the car is doing???

1982 P-type w/ 3.73 LSD
Two Tone Red/Black w/ Black cloth interior (faded to a violet, but the interior was immaculate otherwise)

The car cost me $675, it was in non running condition, but I was sure we'd be able to get her running again. The paint was redone about 3 years prior, as well as the wheels... they were bought NEW from Toyota, car had all receipts on it since the late 1980s.

Never knew why it didn't start. It was in time, it was getting spark, it appeared to have been getting fuel....... we tried everythign we could think of at the time, but still no start. It would run for about 15 seconds and then shut right off. We unbolted the exhaust wondering if maybe the cat was clogged, nope.

One morning we woke up to having been robbed, all our craftsman tools + more was robbed from our other Supra, and we were no longer able to attampt to fix the red car. I stripped some parts off her and sent her away to the junkyard.

Years later, remembering that it could have quite possibly been the AFM, or even a bad fuel pump. It was most likely a simple fix, but the car is long gone now, crushed, at 103,000 miles young

Its not a supra, but don't hate on it (title is "car" that got away ;) )

2 years of building and driving this car and I had to sell it due to a accident in my daily that screwed me over financially.

now I got a supra to build up :)

quick run-down
1984 rabbit GTI sport

2.0 16v engine from a 91 passat, n/a but built to about 180hp

interior gutted with carbon / kevlar: racing seat, rear floor, door cars. '99 jetta dash,

extior 3 1/2" chop, windshield raked 2". sunroof, hatch, handels, sidemarkers, body lines, plate recess all shaved. designed / made my own carbon front facia. 17" rims, lexan windows, custom cut windshield, grey primer waiting for paint.

big brakes, bilstine / h&r suspension

car weighed 1750 w/o me, would run the 1/4 in 13.7 on street tires before it was gutted. never made it back to the track after the chop / diet because I later found out you have to have door handels to run for saftey, so I'd have to make 2 new chopped doors, didn't get to it before I sold it.

lots of kills, including a modded mk3 supra on I-5 north express lanes doing 60-120 pulls :biglaugh:
