Pulled the head last week in anticipation to replace the head gasket (again, just replaced it back in November 2008) and the shop told me that the head had "stuff" in it, which means the engine has stuff in it too! I would have to have the entire engine rebuilt and it just is not in my budget! :: angry ::

So, looks like I'll just sale it! What is a 89 N/A Auto with a blown engine worth?

Body is in "good" shape, bunch of newer parts:
Rack and pinion was replace with a rebuilt one a year ago from Napa
The power assist pump was replaced when I put the JDM engine in about 4 years ago
Brand new fan shroud, not even installed!
Headgasket set
Battery
etc...

An N/A automatic with what looks like an aftermarket sunroof and a bad motor won't bring much at all. I have bought several for $100-300 in that shape just to part them out. You do have one good thing going for you though, and that is the fact that your car is an 89+. I see 2 option for you:

1. Keep the car on the back burner, until it is within your budget to fix it. Meanwhile, do your studying on here, and do as much of the work as you can. The knowledge is here to get you through much more than your own confidence can imagine. I'm living proof of that, as prior to being a member here my biggest mechanical accomplishment was changing a fuel pump on an old Mustang (2 bolts, 2 hoses).

2. Part out that 89+ before selling it for nothing. There are so many parts that 89+ is an upgrade for pre 89 cars, and they bring good money. Tail lights, Moldings, window switches, and mirrors will get you close to $400-500. That's as good as you could hope for out of it not running.

The sunroof was one of those dealer installed items from what I have heard. I have been trying to get this thing running for 4 years. I even put a JDM engine and tranny in it. I'm done with it and I will sell some parts, but I would prefer to sell most of it as one item.

Well with your location there is probably a larger market for getting the cars so it will probably be cheep. You could probably get $1000 at the very very most but I doubt it. The other problem is you have the engine apart which also dramatically lowers sale value because people are either going to part it out or put it back together fixed. The problem is I don't think there are that many of us who can build an engine we didn't pull apart. Hell most people can't put an engine back together that they took apart. So if you don't want to part it out yourself expect $500 max. Just for reference I bought my na for $100, a turbo 5 speed with blown head gasket for $700, a parts car that had a new jdm motor the kid couldn't install himself for $600 and it was in perfect shape but the head was off it for head gasket replacement. And my wifes na auto for $600 and it was in perfect shape with a new head gasket but it would not start after installing the head gasket, after buying it I found it was a ground that was left off and a blown efi fuse.

Since you obviously don't care about performance too much, I would suggest going 2jz n/a auto from an sc300. Motor mounts, misc hoses, 7m electronics, you could do the whole thing for like a grand. There's 2 2j/auto combos on my local cl for $400 right now

Just grab a cheap temporary JDM engine for $400, toss her in and rebuild another 7m, or the one you have now while you drive it around..

once you're done, slap in the rebuilt engine, and sell the temporary JDM engine for what you got it for..
