So Cry4me_sky and I are working on his car. Trying to install a new BIC test pipe. Trouble is, some of the nut/bolts are stripping. We bought some "deep creep" made by Seafoam to loosen some of the hardware. Not working so well. They are also stripping. The nuts and bolts are 14mm aren't they?

When I put my catback on, a can of liquid wrench and wd40, led to ZERO budge in the rusted bolts. Dremel + Metal cutting attachment = bolts gone for good. 14. They should be 14mm, but years of rust may be allowing you to strip them easily. Just cut them out, as you should replace anyway!

We got it. New test pipe installed. Two of the bolts came off without a fight, but two were a pita. Had to go to Sears to buy those "bolt out" type sockets. And $30 later, one came out. The fourth met the hacksaw.

PB Blaster

soak it overnight and they come off easy the next day

I swear by the stuff and have NEVER had an issue with it

also, don't use 12 point sockets, only use 6 point

I love PB blaster, only problem is when its sprayed on parts that will get hot later. Causes alot of smoke while it burn off.

Also, why only use 6pt? I thought 12pt was better, more contact less chance of its rounding off, or is that backwards thinking on my part?

6pt sockets align correctly to the bolts which are also 6pt, allowing for correct contact areas, and not allowing the socket to spin around on the bolt stripping it, whereas with a 12 pt you have more open space between the bolt and socket, in which the socket can more easily spin on the bolt causing it to strip
