oh i thought you were kidding or something.... cause you have 522 posts i just assumed you were, no biggie.

Yes, you can only lock TEMS into hard with an aftermarket controller (like my HKS, but a few others are made, getting hard to come by) otherwise the sensors will put you into hard only when it "thinks" you need to be in hard such as under hard braking, high speed, lateral g forces, etc... otherwise sport only locks you as high as medium, and normal of course just soft...

TEMS Firm Override, Cockpit controlled FIRM mode

studying the wiring diagram, it can also be done completely inside the cabin. i'd have to search around for the post.

Ive done this mod, and it works but i havent road tested it - BHG. It does work to get the thrid light to go, but you feel kinda bad that your backwiring it all. But, ive heard no problems in doing this, so i assume it is safe. I ran the wires through the top of the diagnostics block, because i didnt want to tear away any of the wire protection. Then i ran it to a cockpit mounted switch for easy on/off activation. Its pretty cool.
I could give you pics if youd like, just ask.

Yep, in the stock trim it only goes on under the conditions mentioned ie; anti-dive, anti-squat, and anti-roll.

Anti-dive is sensed off the brake pedal switch, anti-squat off the TPS, and anti-roll off off the steering wheel optical sensor.

In normal mode the sport mode (2 lights) will also come on when vehicle speed exceeds around 80 mph.
