I think you could manually set the shock damping on the Illumina shocks. Just turn the adjustment on the top of the shocks to the same setting. Check the TSRM for which way it stiffer. I'm not sure if vibration will change the adjustment tho.
Personally, I have TEMS and Illumina struts and its just like the stock ones, you can't tell the difference between the different damping modes.
