Temp gauge not working right

ok my temp gauge is acting really strange, it takes for ever for it to get up. Like i car is nice and warm(blows hot air) and has been on for a good 10-15 minutes, but still the temp gauge is below the c...if i leave the car on for another 10 minutes or so it will slowly rise(to about 1/4 way up) and any time after that it goes right to the middle...so im wondering if its something with my gauge, or with my sensor...where can i find the sensor?? can i clean it with some carb cleaner??

if its not the gauge it could be your thermostat. when i first bought my car the thermostat failed open, and even in 100 degree florida summer, the temp gauge would barely rise. and take forever to do that. take it out, if its open, there you go.
