"Hey micky your so fine..." it has been happening for a long time and still blows my mind.. What kills me more than that is everyone regurgitating(sp?) oldies songs.. rap died after about 96, not that it was that good then but no where near the crap it is now.

Marketing. You forget we are a nation of sheep (well a lot of our population)... tv tells them to like... so they like. It's pretty much that simple

I listen to Louisiana folk music and anything with real instruments being used and people look at me like I'm freaking insane when they see/hear me listening to it

Well I happened to have grown up listening to rap and I am a fan of it and prolly always will. The thing with rap music nowadays is its all about crunk and partying rather than actually being poetic and expressing yourself. I guess thats just cuz I live in the South so its all about Southern crunk down here. I dont like rock too much and can't stand death metal but I do like Disturbed, NIckelback, Linkin Park etc etc. Basically not the heavy hardcore rock. I get crap for listening to it cuz I'm white and apparently white people arent allowed to listen to rap lol which is total b.s. cuz its all about preference and people say you should be listening to rock. I for one don't believe music has a color.

And for those people that think rap is just talking about how many hos you have, or killing people etc etc. Its not what it is. Rap is a form of expressing you self in form of a lyrics just like any other music genre. Yes rap has taken a turn for the worst, but just like any other genre is adapting to its environment I guess you could say.

Skam-you need to expand your horizons. The type of rap you want can be found, lots of artist are lyrical, but its your job to weed them out.Down south there are lyracist but fewer and farther between. You get farther up north you can get more lyracist rap. Im not really a fan of "eastcoast" rap but if you want lyracist then that is where its at.

lol don't get me wrong I do like crunk rap as well but I would love for another Tupac type to come out. His raps had feeling and emotion in them for the most part and you can really understand what he is trying to get across, of course he has the typical I'll bust a cap in yo ass rap as well but for the most part I think his lyrics are the best.
