no if boost IS falling off then it'd be a boost leak which could be caused by the BOV.

if the boost ISN'T falling off then its something with the WG or boost controller.

Aye, if your wastegate is busted, then your turbo would never know when to stop boosting.

Just try running with the vac disconnected from the actuator.

see thats what i was thinking this guy who is a big toyota guy said thats causing my boost to fall off from 17-12 psi....

i figured it would cause it to boost forever!

...... To a point. You see, there is a theroretical point at which the pressure inside the manifold or exhaust housing reaches the spring/mechanical pressure of the wastegate itself.

Sure it could be in the 40+ psi range, but sooner or later the wastegate will open.
