He has since gone on to medical school and no one on that site has heard from him in a while...

But by how much. And you'd have to make sure it would be braced well enough to avoid the flexing right? I don't think it would lower the center of gravity or weight savings by that much if you would have to brace it don't you think?Poodles said:

I'd like an aluminum or better braced frame with an autoclaved CF shell over it, would be super stiff and light as hell
the only issues is the drip rails and seals aren't exactly light...
but that's expensive as hell, most people wouldn't be able to afford it...

Not trying to start a war but the "sport roof" was a stupid (but bafflingly popular) option.
I think chassis flex on a sport roof is a much bigger issue, but agreed, if you could take some weight off the highest part of the car it would probably help.
