trust me it is 12mm x 1.25.

I have a pitch measure that confirmed the pitch. The 12mm x 1.25 you will NOT find anywhere. Sears MIGHT have the thread chaser but it is part of a kit and in my opinion it is a piece of shit. Had one shear on me and i had to drill the shit out.

www.fastenal.com and search for 12mm x 1.25. Problem solved. Oh and anopther thing. you want HSS or High speed steel taps/chaser. Anything else might not do anything to the iron block.

to be honest, if i were gonna go thru that trouble i would just helicoil it. much stronger and easy to find the kit.

AAHAHAHA

HAAHAHA

lol dude to tap out the IRON block you can not do with just any run of the mill bit especially the coated crap. You need industrial sized and forged bits.

Like the 10.8mm Drill bit i bought. Cost me 45 bucks but took out the sheared thread chaser like it was aluminum :) Same thing applies to the tap. get the cheap shit that is not high speed steel and you WILL break that sucker while threading and then you will curse yourself for not spending the money on the correct parts first.

and absolutely pointless to even think about helicoiling when you just need to clean the threads so the studs go in all the way!

damn lol ok i guess igotta 2 day one now

well here is the thing :)

If you are going to use the tap to jsut clean the threads in the block. Get a BOTTOMING tap so it cleans ALL the threads.

A plug tap is worthless and so are taper taps as they don't go all the way down. :)
