I just want to clean my turbo as much as I possibly can without having to have it rebalanced. So how much can I take off? Compressor housing, anything else. I know this isnt going to do anything, but get it cleaner, but I've got it off and wont be needing to put it back on for a while. Also to waste some time here while back at school away from my car :(

alright well I have both off now. I also have the oil line off and it looks like there is quite a bit of buildup and sludge inside there. Is there anyway to clean this out of there without damaging bearings or the shaft? If so, with what? Thanks

I would just use brake cleaner.
...with an air nozzle to clean all the gunk out. Then flush it through with clean engine oil, let it drain, then seal it so it can't get dirt in it.
