It honestly seems like too much trouble to pull the engine out just to replace your hoses and clean the engine bay unless you plan on doing a rebuild.

If that's the case, depending on the mileage and if its had a recent rebuild, then you need to have the engine/head machined and prepped for the type hg you choose to go with. ARP head studs/bolts, new gaskets, hoses, timing belt, piston rings, bearings, and also oil/water pump.

There is a difference between preventive maintenance and doing something that doesn't need to be done. "Don't fix it if its not broken"

Tell me, Was it worth a little bit of work? My exterior paint is taking a little longer than first thought, but the Bay looks good to those who see it. Also, the motor pull and re-install go much easier with the bumper and header out of the way.

If your going to paint the bay, then definitely pull the motor/tranny out and do it properly the first time. I didnt know you were painting it.

Ya, as he stated it, I understood the question to be was it worth it to pull the motor to clean up the bay. My post was a suggestion of, if you are going to pull the motor, why not have the bay sprayed. It's not easy to get a good accurate picture of the red, but that picture is not too far off. It looks amazing in person, and with a motor in it. I personally think that sets apart a nice car from a really nice car. A cleaned up bay looks almost as good, but fresh paint in there says that you cared when building it.

deff pull it out, it doesnt take long at all and its DEFF worth it.
as for the rebuild, i would just replace the rear seal, HG, head studs, rod bolts, and any seals/gaskets you can get to.

Ya, The car looks like the sig picture (except for a red gas door), and that is under the hood, coming out of the body shop. Here is how the bay looked at the last time of picturing. I've added a couple of very minor additions since this.

And here is the best picture I have from before the bay was sprayed. The car had been parted out before I bought it as a replacement shell for the car that was totaled by a drunk lady. The picture was taken by TooStand in his Supra graveyard before I bought it.

that is beautiful..that is what im talking about.....im going for something differnet though...some may like it some may not...im going for a black/blue scheme for my car so whole car i want to be painted black..but once i open the hood the inside of the bay will be blue...and all my hoses and whatnot will be black and blue...hopefully my image comes out good...but that my friend is one nice bay...and may i ask where you got ur silicone hoses?
