My taillights seemed to stop working last night. When I brake they turn on, but with parking lights on and full headlights on, no luck. I check the fuses, they are all good. I went and checked that little box (light failure box?) at the left tail light, It's got some of the circuitry burnt up. Would that effect the taillights to the point as where they won't work? I have been told it could be a relay or the switch inside the car itself.

I was also told I need to find the skematic for the circuitry so we can try to figure this out.

thanks for your help in advance

It's definitely your tailight failure sensor box! Try to see if you can get a spare one from a local junkyard or try the "Parts for sale" section.

wow, exact same thing im experiencing!

i actually took the side marker wires/bulbs and just zipped them in place of where one of my rear lights would be, so i can have night time illumination!

i need a yellow one though (wingless box)

Or do the ghetto fix like myself.

Grab a multimeter and a friend, and have him mash on the brake pedal to find out which socket in the failure box plug does what.

With a few pieces of wire inserted into the plug sockets you can complete the circuits and provide your car with tail light failure box-less lights! Then just throw a ziplock bag around the whole thing and zap strap it shut. Or if you get really adventurous you can splice the wires together and not have to worry again!

I really should post pics shouldn't I.

But before you change out the box think about what caused the burn... ive been having problem with that box for a long bc i refuse to buy a new one.

Did you recently change one of the tail lights? What's happened to me twice now is ive put the wrong light in the wrong socket, and its burned up my box. The Brake lights get a Two contact bulb, while the turns and reverse lights get a One contact bulb. Make sure you dont switch them up or you'll burn your new box!
