what does it mean when the needle isn't sitting at 0 when it's off
it sits below it?

does that mean it's faulty?

we're full of digi dash over here so i don't have much experience with broken analogue stuff hehe

I thinks it is just off. You won't get correct readin . Yo ucan open it and move it to zero.My speedo sits below zero and it reads 10 miles slower than what I am actually doing.

my egt gage sits wherever the hell it feels like when its off, but as soon as i turn the ignition and give it power it reads correctly

when i turn the power on for my car it sits a hair above the 0 mark when its off it sits like right on it.

i dont think that means its faulty tho maybe the needle is just off?

Does the car idle at the proper RPM's? If it does, it should be fine. Has it always been like that? When the car's warm it should idle at like 650-750 iirc.

what guage are we talking about here..... the stock guages will read incorectly if its not zero'd when off.....some aftermarket guages dont sit at zero until powered, egt will not be zero because even if the car has been off for a while it will still read 80-100 degrees or whatever the temp is.

Pull off needle. Put needle back on it correct position.

Problem solved. It's that easy.

Suze - You have a turbo correct? I don't think an NA tach will work...it gets its signal from the GTE ignitor

its not the tach thats different its the wiring.... but im pretty sure the plug is the same so it will work fine, na gets is signal from the distributor, turbo gets it from the cps, the wiring to those 2 is different

Take a look at the wiring diagram
The GTE gets the tach signal from the ignitor...the GE gets it from the ignition coil and ignitor. The CPS and/or the distributor has no input to the tach.

The NA tach will not work in a turbo...take a look at this link:

LOL...heck Suze you can sell anything with "Supra" on it

Don't know about the 1G, but you can modify the 7M-GE tach circuit board to work. If the 1G uses the same ignition coil and ignitor as the 7M, it should work with it as well.

the 1g uses the same ignitor setup as the na 7m i believe.... little ignitor and coil on top

and i take no responsibility on getting it working LOL (i don't know electronicy stuff hehe)... it's a 9 grand tach... that's what counts

^Lol, you just wanted the tach cuz it went all the way to 9K... I think RHDMK3 has a cluster with a 9k tach, but his is stock with the engine he's got.

that is the point, i buy the cool! 9 grand tach and sell them coz alot of ppl out there need higher reading tachs

The engine RHDMK3 has is a 1GGTE which is in a GA70 body

Wow... How much is involved in making a digidash work in an american supra? I imagine it's some tuff shit to do .

BTW: Never seen one b4 until now... kinda looks like Honda copied toyota's gauge when they did the S2000.
