So i my motor had origionally come with a 1.15 AR turbo. I didnt boost till like 4k so i wanted to get a smaller housing and swap it out.

Now i just got my turbo off and it has what i believe is a double scroll housing....? It has the divider part in the middle of the exhaust plange if that makes sense. The turbo that i bought to swap housings has a what i belive is a single scroll housing with no divider on it.

So is that going to be a problem? My manifold also has the double scroll thing. Now im sure theres a reason for the divider thing to be there, but when i think about it, all the air/exhaust gases are being forced the same direction to the same chamber....?

Second, the exhaust housing i want to use is about .23 MM smaller than the origional, so the turbine fins barley touch the housing causing it not to spin unless i spin it with a little force. Could i simply hone the housing out a tad to fit it??

Why not buy the correct housing for it?

Twin scroll need to be used together in order for it to work properly. You can run a non divided housing on a divided manifold with no issues. Twin scroll will spool faster tho.

Well I'm planning on gettin a better turbo, my engine came with a xs power turbo. So for now it's fine, but I'll be upgrading for next summer soon.

So ok lll have to hone it out a lil bit to fit. That should be fine right? It's just goin to be a really thin layer, it really just barely gets caught in there. Slides on just fine.

What trim turbine wheel do you have? O, P, Q??? They're different sizes. Sound like the turbine housing you just got for your turbo is smaller than your wheel. Measure you wheel and let us know what you have. Can you post pics?

What brand turbo do you have? What brand turbine housing are you trying to swap to?

Idk what trim type. And I know it's a lil small, that's why I'm gunna hone it out.. Lol

The turbo I got with my engine and the one I'm using is an XS power turbo. The turbo I'm taking the exhaust housing from is an eBay no name turbo.

The turbo I'm using is 73.5 on the bigger part of the turbine and 63.75 on the smaller part that you can touch when assembled.

The turbo I'm using the housing from is 73.35 on the bigger part and 64 on the smaller part.

The bigger part is the one that is scrapin the housing a lil bit.

I'm sure I can just open it up a tad, without ruining anything. It's not even .5 mm of a difference needed to be takin off: I could honestly probably just use some sand paper and rub it down. But I'm gunna get it honed at a shop though!
