Well I've finally got the balls to start pushing my fresh rebuild today and while cruising home from work today before the afternoon traffic I decided to open her up. I was cruising around 110 and got a little nervous (actually a lot) when I felt the car start to fly (or that's what it felt like anyway). The road was a little wavy and the car started to feel like it would leave the road briefly and start an uncontrollable "bouncing" (not a fast low rider style but a slow wave kind). She was almost floating and my steering felt really sloppy.

Anyway, enough poetry for now. My concerns are that the shocks/struts/springs are past their prime and possibly my bushings in all the linkages, ball joints, etc... could use some updating.

What are the best upgrades to do on a somewhat tight budget that you guys would reccommend. I am not into lowering and all that fancy roll cage stuff. I guess I just prefer a somewhat stiff, but smooth ride (keep your perverted comments to yourselves-that's not what I'm talking about) and I also like a lot of control like when the car hugs the road.

Are there any bushing kits out there that are affordable that you guys would reccommend. Also what shocks/struts/springs are easy on the wallet.

any aftermarket springs are going to be lower than stock. i have heard good things about the eibachs(sp?) and the ST springs. surf around in the review section. Yourchoice of shocks depends on wether or not you want to kep the TEMS. koni yellows are good. Bushings are a pain in the ass to put on, it's all up to you.

I agree. It seems your Supe at the very least needs new shocks (Koni, KYB, Tokico, etc.). Get whatever your budget allows. Of course, adjustable shocks (or struts, whatever their right name is) are going to cost more. You can reuse your stock coil springs. But installing aftermarket coil springs at the same time will make your car very responsive, in addition to making it look much better. An 1.3 inch drop is a lot, and I'd advise against going lower than that. I have had great luck with Suspension Techniques springs. They made the car more agile, and light on its feet. Specially if you get their sway bars. Huge improvements. My car felt glued to the road with this setup. No floatiness at triple digit speeds :biglaugh: , with a sweet, stock-like ride most of the time, and very firm when pushed hard. Lots of Supra guys run Eibach springs. Tein and maybe TRD also make springs. Good luck.
