I have an 87 supra turbo. I recently purchased strut tower braces, swaybars, poly bushings, and tein flex coilovers. I'm searching for how to set up the coilovers and what kind of alignment specs are recommended for mostly daily driving with weekend racing (autox and open tracking).

Also, has anyone installed the poly bushing kit? successfully? I'm wondering about the fornt lowers and how the metal insert is longer than the control arm sleeve. Will it slide around? Do I need a washer or something?

Also, how do I go about torquing the bolts on the control arms with the wheels on and the car sitting on the ground. I don't think I can even get to the bolts, let along torque them to 121 ft-lbs.

Any advice is appreciated.

With poly bushings you do not need to torque the bolts with the car on the ground. That is only for the rubber "twist" type bushings. However if you are skeptical you could always use a jack under the lower control arms to put weight on that corner of the car and then torque the bolts, would be just like it was on the ground.

I did do the poly bushing install. No washers needed. Burn the old rubber bushings out of all the control arms but the uppers. Insert the poly bushings in the outer sleeves of the control arms. For the uppers, I suggest pressing out the old bushings whole and then putting in the poly bushings. You could also drill and tap holes in the control arms all the way through the polyurethane once the bushings are installed and then put grease fittings so you can grease them. Just be sure to remove the inner sleeve of the bushings to make sure you don't drill through it.

As for alignment? That is totally preference. If you want something that'll make your tires last just go with the stock specs I would think.

The alignment thing is always a compromise.

I have a set of specs reached through trial and error and working with a shop here that I'm very happy with but may not suit everyone.

They sadly won't transfer to a LHD car due to the camber on the roads and I'm not sure if just swapping left for right would work!

The beauty of the Mk3 suspension is EVERYTHING is adjustable so you can tune it to how ever you like it to drive.

Makes sense. Thanks.

I guess I'll try starting out with the stock alignment (0,0,3?) and see. Maybe try a little negative camber, like -1.

Anyone have suggestions about what coilover settings to start out with? ride height? dampening...
