I have eibach's sitting on gr-2's in the rear and agx adjustables in the front. I think that they are great and will do the job until I decide on a more extreme set up. I bought the entire set-up from 935motorsports.com

Saving for coilovers is your best bet and expect to pay well in excess of $1000 for a set. I think they cheapest I've seen the Tein Type Flex (what I have) kit for the MKIII was $1270 at 935. However, I'd just call either SP Engineering or HPF with that price and see how they can compare to it. They both offer price matching/beating and are known for great service and such. I got mine from SP Eng., but if I had to do it all over again, I would probably talk to either Jeff or Ron at HPF.

If you insist on going cheap I suggest that you don't get Tokico shocks. I've heard plenty of bad things about them. Get KYB instead. And Eibach is a good choice if you want a non-progressive spring. H&R offers a progressive set of springs.

Progressive springs get stiffer as they get compressed. Linear rate springs have the same stiffness as they get compressed.

Sorry, your mistaken. If i remember correctly there is a thread or a link to a site that has the different spring rates and progessive and non-progessive springs available. Just do a search and you should find it. I'll also try to search for it quickly:thumbup:

I have been interesting in getting Eibachs for the past few years and everything I have seen has shown that they are progressive rate springs. I just did a search on Supraforums and every thread I saw said the Eibachs are progressive.
Suspention Techniques: linear front, progressive rr, 442 lbs, and 147-175 lbs, 1.3 inch drop

Intrax: progressive frt and rr, ~700lbs working, ~220lbs working, 1.75
inch drop

Eibach: progressive frt and rr, 343-628 lbs, 126-257 lbs, 1.5 inch drop

Tokico: linear frt and rr, 395lbs, 198 lbs, 1 inch drop

GAB: progressive frt and rr, 307-475 lbs, 146-218 lbs, 1.5 inch drop

H+R: progressive frt and rr, ~575 lbs working, ~285 lbs working, didn't
get the drop advertised

TRD: progressive frt and rr, ~670 lbs working, ~280 lbs working, didn't
get the drop advertised

I remember reading complaints about the Eibachs ebing progressive and therfore being unpredictible in the corners, but I think that was in a review before the site got hacked as I can't seem to find it now.

Well, you beat me to and and I stand corrected. The eibachs are very great in corners, however not as good as a complete coilover set-up like the D2's, Tein, or HKS hyperflex. The complete coilover kits are more aimed more towards track and autox use than eibachs (more street/strip use)

Are Eibach progessive or not? this could make a great.

If your going to be in it $500-$600 just save for a couple more weeks to get $900 and buy the Tein SS. YOU WONT be dissapointed. I rolled around on 18s for over a month before I got my Teins. I looked like a frikken hot wheel car:biglaugh:

I've got Tein SS's coming and ive read a lot of good reviews about them, so I figured you get what u pay for, so I spent the extra cash for coilovers instead of springs and struts.
go for the coilovers like everyone here is saying.

I could've swore that Eibach was linear, too. Oh well, I've never payed much attention to springs anyway.

I used to have a friend that had GAB springs on his MKIII and he said they were linear. They had the same thickness throughout and his H&Rs did not. Can anybody confirm what they are?

As far as shocks go, I didn't know that Bilstein made them for the MA70. I knew that they came stock on the JZA70, though. I'd be interested in how those perform vs. the other brands.

They do make Bilsteins for the MA70. They're a bit more pricey than other struts, but are well worth it. 935Motorsports has a package price w/springs for them.

don't forget to look into a set of aftermarket swaybars too, they make quite a difference!
The only springs I know of that are linear are the ST's, and they are only linear in the rear and progressive in the front. I personally did H&Rs with tokico shocks and ST swaybars and am pretty happy with how the car feels in comparison to stock, and all for under a grand.
I would however, love a set of decent coilover (Ohlins anyone??) but I got a good deal on my springs/shocks.
