Well I know i said a long time ago that I would do a build thread, so here it goes. Im also going to put up the cars I work on during my weekends at the body shop with my father in law. He is teaching me to do bodywork and painting. Working with him on the weekends has forced me to take attention away from the supra, I just work on it after my night job. Well here's some pictures of her when she was all 87, now she's half 87 and half 89.

Here she is after the front end swap and the "custom" sidemarkers and a pic of the rear end and the engine in its current state.

Looks pretty clean so far, but not sure I am a fan of your "custom" front blinkers. Would rather see the vents open to allow what air flow they provide even if it is a small amount. In most cases our mkIII's already don't have adequate air flow. But to all there own.

Me too, but if you have ever tried to do this conversion you would find out the smaller blinkers and vents don't fit on an 87. Im not to worried about the airflow, its just a daily. If it starts to overheat or something i will just take them out. I really don't see it making much of a difference.

Progress on the cutlass. Its a 71 cutlass, he wants to make it look like a 72 442. My brother in law got to paint it. It has a few runs that we will have to take care of, but other than that he did pretty good. This is not the finished product, it will look a lot better in the next couple of weeks. Could be longer because the owner wants this airbrusher he knows to put realistic flames down the sides.

More info on my car.

I lived in washington for a while and had to sell my 1988 RX-7 because we had to move to Texas. So i started looking on craigslist and found a 1987 supra with a "minor" smoke issue on start up. I was used to a smoking car on start up having had the oil burn'n rotary.

Well i moved to Texas and tried to contact the owner of the car, called him everyday for a week before he finally answered his phone. He lied and told me the paint was perfect and said he had a mechanic look at it who'm said he had no idea why it was smoking. Well upon my arrival i noticed several burnouts everywhere near the road to his house. Didn't care, i figured it was pretty cool because I rodded the crud out of my RX-7 everyday i had it and it ran as smoothly as the day i got it. Thats not cool to do to a supra i soon realized. Also the paint was crap, it was mostly faded from the sun.

I drove it home and by the time i got there it was dark, so i went inside to watch tv. Im sitting there and all of the sudden i hear an alarm going crazy. So i run outside and seen my car freak'n out. Come to find out the way i locked it wasn't the right way so it would freak out.

I drove it for a little while and noticed a nasty leak, then my power steering started whining. So i replaced the rack and pinion, fixed that problem. Well later down the road im sitting at a stop light after dropping my brother off at work then all of the sudden a huge nasty ploom of smoke emerges from the tail pipe, it looked like i was doing a John Force burnout on my way home.

I ended up having to leave to Nevada so i just left the supra. When i came back my father in law surprised me with a new engine (well, used JDM). I was extremely happy, but blew my headgasket a month later. I was so angry i thought about selling it. But i couldn't think of any other car i would want that was affordable, so i decided to fix it.

I am going to do a full respray, and paint a lot of the engine components to really clean up its look. I will replace just about everything except the bottom end components to decrease any further issues. I will also get my camber set correctly in the rear and get some spacers to give it a better overall look. Heres a pic of the front, the turn signals, love em or hate em(Don't think they would have been noticed had i said anything). I will keep it looking clean, i like the stock look. I might just put a front lip on but thats probably it.

I think you might wanna raise that intercooler.
Looks like you could bust that pipe on a parking block.

Lol, It already has a dent. Thats with most of the weight out of the front, its usually a lot lower. Note to self: back into parking spots. I don't want to remove the bumper, you lose a lot of strength if you get in a collision. Trust me, so it has to be that low to fit. Oh, and look at my first picture, that is the same intercooler. Looks lower because the newer bumper doesn't have a lip.

Just waiting on the timing belt for my car. I have everything else to get it running. It has a LIPP boss turbo (stage 4), im going to stick with the stock injectors and stock boost because this will be my daily driver soon. Im upgrading to NT01's for the tires, everything else is prety much stock except the exhaust, radiator, intercooler and HKS blow off valve. Once it is put together i will be getting it painted, im thinking about just sticking with the blue because i can't think of anything that would look really cool on an mk3. Heck, if you have a muscle car you can get away with just about any paint scheme. But if you own an import you run the high risk of being seen as a ricer even with a professionally done paint scheme. If anyone has some insight into what they think would look cool on an mk3, let me know. I can't think of anything.

I know how to make images big now, so no more little tiny clickable pics. Here is the 1970 Mach 1 Mustang that needs a respray. He wants a minor color change. Its already red as you can tell but he wants it viper red like the camaro our shop painted a short time ago. This mustang was the cover car on a popular muscle car magazine. I will get the specific name of the magazine from the owner, he told my pops, but he forgot the specific name of the magazine. Anyways, this car is in our shop due to minor scratches and small craters in the paint (smartest thing to do if you ask me, get it done sooner so you don't have large issues later). When we tore it down it was like tearing apart a new car. It is super clean!

And here it is after its tear down, this car is absolutely beautifull in person. This guy actually drives his car too, why waste that much money just to look at it, lol.

As for the oldsmobile, well were just waiting on the frame. Then we get to find out if everything fits. If they don't fit we will have to strip the paint off of whatever parts don't fit and re-do them from scratch. Here's a couple pics of the parts waiting to be reunited with the car.

As for the oldsmobile, still waiting on the frame! lol. As for the mach 1, pictures:

Once we put the clear down it looked a lot more red. Although since my flash didn't go off the first time, my camera says otherwise.

The guy who just started working for us drives this MR2.
