W58 doesn't hold up very long at that power level.

Get 500 hp and see where your at.

Maft pro sure. W58 not so much.

Some will hold 350 fine some will hold 400 for a while. Some wont. And if you put power to it a lot it's not going to last very long.

A w58 will last longer in a car that weighs less. It's really the amount of torque applied to the transmission that breaks stuff. The easier it is to actually move the car, the less stress there is on the driveline. Weld the rear brakes to the brake callipers, and you could break all kinds of driveline stuff with a stock 7M-GE.

For dragstrip times, you can get whatever you have the power/weight and traction for. Same power/weight, same traction, and you'll get a similar 1320.

If a 7M-GTE easy to install in front of a W58? Sure. Easy as pie. If you used a Mk4 W58, those are supposed to have a stronger input shaft, though if you're going to go that far, I'd just get the R154... Oh wait. I did just get the R154.
