Just wondering what percentage tint is on stock JDM tail lights?I'm looking to tint a set of tail lights (different car) at the same %. Anyone have an idea?

There is no tint the lenses are the same it's what's behind the lenses that give them a darker appearance

If you it to look just like them you need to pull the lenses off and paint the light diffuser behind the lenses gunmetal it's gonna have to be a clear plastic gunmetal type of paint like the kind used for models no tint will come close

Let me elaborate, these are the tail lights I have:

I want to tint them as close as I can to how the JDM MKIII tail lights look. What percentage do you think would get me as close as possible to them?

I'd be careful with using Nightshades, the stuff works good, but DO NOT use more than one light coat or you'll make your lights effectively worthless. I used it to tint the lenses of the gauges on my a-pillar (I forget specifics, but wiring in resistors wasn't dimming it in the traditional sense), and went with a couple quick coats, they're hard to see during the day. If you do go that route, practice on something else first.

My idea, you might try having some paint mixed up. Like 10 parts of clear to ONE part of a darkish red. They're a cherry color on JDM cars, not really tinted per se... Just remember that looking cool with darker lights and getting rear ended because someone doesn't know you're hitting your brakes are two closely related things in this case. ;)

Just get the lightest tint and dont use nightshade. Up close it looks like crap.

Sick car too.

Oh, that's what I was going to mention as well... tint more than likely won't stick to plastic. That's the only reason I went with the Niteshades on the gauge lenses.
