I was going to upgrade the oil cooler. My question is what is a good GVW rating to use? I was thinking 12000, but how about 18000 or up? Im not sure what the stock system does so I have nothing to base it on.

FTR, i'm sure this has been covered but there are so many results in a search, i simply can't find anything :nono:

Edit:

While i'm at it, anyone use a oil catch system similar to this?: http://www.jegs.com/p/Steeda/961403/10002/-1/10449

How well does it work?

That's why you run a T Stat ;)

It will let the engine warm up faster and then keep the Oil at 180f.

i believe i read about this earlier today, don't you have to remove the pressure sensitive system first and then replace it with the tstat system?

While the topic is up, I have always had the concern that having such a large oil cooling circuit you create an greater amount of time for the fluid to fill the hoses/cooler and finally pressurize the engine when starting up. Especially if the cooler or hoses were ran up higher than the adapter plate towards the front of the car and allowing the oil to drain back into the pan. Is there any merit to this concern of mine or am I just over thinking it. I had planned on running an accusump anyway to prime before starting...

do yourself a favor and don't spend $90 or whatever it was on that catch can.....they have the same filter system design at Home Depot. It is made by Husky and costs 14.79. You can buy anysize fitting for it too. I have no idea about how well it works though... Actually i have one laying around in my garage because i thought about using it but decided to use the old one....
