Stumped: Bogging at low RPMs

Ok, I've had my rebuilt 7m up for about a week now. Ive had various issues but the one I can't seem to fully correct deals with the car bogging below 1500rpms or so. When the new motor went in, I also put in an R154 so the issue is a bit more noticeable. To describe how it bogs, I'll be attempting to take off in first and the car barely crawls forward. I can have the throttle wide open, boost gauge showing about 2 psi and it just won't move. Then sporadically it will whip back to life and pull smooth and rather hard to 3000rpms+.

Now the odd thing is, it shows no real pattern. At first I believed once the car warmed up and dropped out of closed loop it would act up, but now Ive had this issue occur sporadically after the cars been running for much longer than usual (the point where I'd think the issue would pop up sooner.)

What i've done/checked:

-Can't find any intake leaks.
-Had TPS tested out and adjusted properly with feeler gauge and Ohmeter/voltemeter.
-Base timing checked and set at 10degrees
-New tank of 93.

Also, the issue never seems to occur at night...whether that means anything at all or not, I don't know.

Any help is appreciated, even if its something easy/obvious to you. :1zhelp:

I'll *BUMP* the thread for you.;)

Well, not sure what kind of help this would be for you, but my friend just did a complete rebuild (pistons, cams, turbo, etc) on his Civic HB....He's having the EXACT same problems as you described. He only has like 8 miles on the motor and trying to take off, he'll have to rev it up and it still won't go anywhere then it just out of know where kicks in and he takes off...Of course, it's random, as well. Very strange. His problems are still occurring, However, they have narrowed it down to his fuel system acting up some how or another. Hope you figure it out and I'm sure someone will chime in...I'm surprised nobody has yet...Good luck.

I don't understand this. The car will crawl forward with your foot off the clutch, and the go pedal to the floor??? Are the revs climing while doing this? I'm taking it that the car is not moving, or just slightly movign forward. If the car isn't moving much, and the revs are up, the clutch is slipping.

Clutch pedal in or out?

Swap ECU's dammit. Try it at least. Ensure the wiring job for the neutral thing is done correctly. IIRC, Dale has an 89+, so that later ECU might be different.

my buddys supra is doing the same thing....just randomly in a certain part of the warm up it will do it. no codes or anything. it sputters and barely goes, but the boost needle goes into boost.

Well update, for the past day and a half under various conditions she's been fine. A few local guys believe it may have been the gas in her.

We'll see.

Fuel filter can cause weird problems similar to this. If the problem persists it's worth a shot if you haven't done it recently.

Thanks, Jim mentioned that, as did a few others. When I go to put my walbro in here in a few weeks, I'll make sure to replace it and whatever else I can.
