I was wondering what you guys think is the best struts for a '90 Turbo. Should I replace and try to go OEM or perhaps Billsteins. What was the original type that Toyota put in. The car has TEMS. Toyota electronic modulated suspension.

If you want to keep tems get illumina II.

If you don't you can get some bilstiens or some regular kybs.

Illuminas are like 3-400$ for all 4.

Buddy just got all 4 regular kyb for I think less than 100$ soo.

All up to what you want to do. You can also lower the car from stock 4x4 with some ebiachs or h&r springs or whatever.

We know what TEMS stands for, did you know that your car doesn't have struts and instead shock absorbers? Anyways, what do you want from your next set of shocks, do you want to go firmer, do you daily drive it, what's your budget? Keep that in mind as you search: https://www.google.com/#hl=en&safe=...ania.com+shocks&oq=site:supramania.com+shocks

Also try searching "best shocks". I personally have Tokico Illuminas, I love them, they retain tems.

In my first Supra, I had TEMS, so I kept the Tokico shocks. My current Supra does not have TEMS, so I just installed Bilsteins & Eibach springs. (It was on busted KYB's and Intrax springs, and actually riding way too low) Liking the look & feel so far, only time will tell if that feeling holds up. (Any look & feel is better than 100% blown shocks, right?)

Personally, I think it depends on whether you plan any performance driving, and what sort of ride height you like.
