I'm wondering if anyone has experience with the cheap strut tower bars on eBay:
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/STRU...33591QQitemZ8044829943QQrdZ1QQsspagenameZWDVW

How would this compare to a $100 one from GReddy?

And one more question while I'm on the topic. I thought I read a while back that strut tower bars for the MKIV Supra would fit the MKIII, you just have to put it in backwards or something. Is this true? Thanks all.

I use it, I was actually impressed for the price. I plan on forming some 1/8th inch steel and weld it around the top to stiffen it up on the ends..

Not to mention how easy it was to pull or push the towers in and out by adjusting the bar tension... Ok, that was shock...

I was chatting with Seamus (Suprafiend) about this exact thing and he feels that the cheap ebay ones are crap and do nothing. I've noticed that the cheap ones look much thinner than the better brands. If the bar is compression loaded, it might bend or bow easily, offering poor support, but if it was pulled, it might be fine. Any ideas on whether these bars are pushed or pulled under heavy cornering loads???

swaq its been a while! I cant vouch for the ebay item but glad to see ya here. I havent been to i-supra in sometime maybe I should go catch up

Yeah I know, I've been pretty busy with school and stuff. There really isn't a whole lot to catch up on over at i-supra, it's been pretty dead. NickM, supras_owns_you, Boostin Supra, shaeff, and a few others seem to be the only regular posters. There also seem to be a good number of new people posting, but I'm not sure how long they're staying.

Thanks for the input guys!

you'd be better off spending money on something to stiffen up the rear of the car. (like a rear STB, you'll notice it ALOT more.)

to my knowledge... that type of strut bar would do nothing on our car? can someone who knows more abotu our suspension setup chime in? i've heard the only ones worth gettign are the ones that brace diagonally and across to the firewall
