On the coil pack covers on my 1jz. The allan heas are all screwed up and I need to get to the coils, and I really dont want to sacrifice the cover soooo.

What about tacking somthing to the screw and pulling it out?

Thats second to last case if chriso and I cant screw extract

Probably. I just want to know is welding would be damaging, Chris was telling me about welding on an engine, could send electricity to the bearings and make them arc. Im sure well get a secrew extraction to work tho.

^ that is 100% true, I have destroyed perfectly good bearings by running current through them, luckily it was on a small sculpture, not a motor. It took me a while to figure out what happened. I do think, if the ground was right next to the place you are welding, its ok, just don't put the ground on the crank pulley. I would grind the heads off, or drill them if they were that bad, before I tried any electric welding. have fun.
