Change your fluids and let your poor car sleep. Starting it everyday is draining your battery and increasing the condensation in your engine. I store mine every winter and that’s for 7-8 months at a time.

I live in Manitoba and have to let her sleep for the same amount of time. I park in in the middle of October until the snow melts and the streets are clean. Thats usually around May long weekend.

92Turbo4Life, if you parked your car for winter why not take the battery out of your car, put it on a trickle charger, take it down to a local auto parts store, get a test done on it, and if its bad, replace it. Also don't install it until the day you take you car out of storage. I never leave the battery in my car over winter even though the car stays in the garage. The battery always stays in the house. Depending if your garage is insulated or not, and how cold it gets, the temp in the garage is still cold enough that it may have an effect on the overall life of the battery. If had the same battery for over 3 years doing this.

BTW, are you and anyone else who parked their car getting that itch to drive it. Makes the winter feel too damn long hey. :aigo:

yea i store mine in the cold aswell,

how long were you lettign it run for ??

better off just pulling the battery and puttin in a decently warm place, dont put it on cement or someplace grounded, for some odd reason whenever i left my battery on the cement floor of my garage it just got sucked dead. the car will be better off just sitting and if you run it every week or two after you do the following

thinner oil just for warming up and idling, i use lucas to smother the parts for the cold start up.
make sure coolant mixture is tip top to avoid costly freeze damage.
take everything organic out of your car, EVERYTHING, miss 1 candy bar and the car will reek. i empty a box of mothballs in my hatch, backseat front seat, glove box and arround air vents.
if you can jack the car up off of the ground, or make sure you roll it back and forth a foot or so when you start it up to change the load on your tires.
fill the tank to the brim. leave no air in that gas tank.
cover it.

i been to busy to think about hte supra lately so its just kind of there. sitting, not running, man i miss hearing what a turbo SHOULD spool like. my auidi turbo sounds like a hamster wheel.

Just park it and leave it. No need to start it up constantly you will create more condensation in the motor and inside the car.

Make sure gas tank is filled pour in fuel stabilizer run the car for 10 mins and then turn it off, disconnect the battery bring it inside and charge it fully place on a shelf not the floor.

Having to jack it up is not really required anymore this isn't 1950's tire technology were dealing with, Put in 10 Extra lbs of air into the tires and they will be fine come spring time.

I always change to oil before I put the car away so that there is fresh in the engine, and less chance of contaminents in the oil causing rust.

Make sure the anitfreeze is tip top to prevent freezing and cracking of lines. Cover the car or place in a garage. Make sure if indoors that it is a constant temperature. Don't heat and cool the area, cause will cause moisture build up.

In the spring put the battery in, pull the Efi fuse give the car a few precranks, then plug the efi back in and fire her up. Let it idle and go for a nice slow drive after everything has warmed up. Enjoy.

Been using this routine for the last 9 years with the Supra nad have had no issues with it storing it over winter. No need to fire it up all the time, just park it leave it and come back to it in spring time.

How the hell do you guys go 7-8 months without driving your supras?!?!?!

It's not 7-8 months.

I park my car from November until mid march or beginning of april it is generally 4-5 months.

Over winter save up money for parts, or do build up as there is no downtime so not worrying about not driving it cause you won't be :p

also waiting 5 months just makes the driving that much sweeter once you get back in it. Going from the truck to the supra feels like the first day I brought it home.

Plus I just go snowmobiling in the winter to get my speed fix.
