Spray on paint stripper? I wouldn't use abrasives or sandblasting, too much chance of damaging the aluminium. I also wouldn't worry too much about getting ALL of the paint stripped, particularly if you're planning to repaint it.

It's not worth spending a lot of money, with (much better) aftermarket ICs being relatively affordable.

Ive seen guys paint their FMIC's flat black all the time and it had no change in performance. IAT's stayed the same as well.

id just save up to buy an aftermarket if it's causing problems,or just find one thats in better shape.
just be careful of the fins,they dont like being touched!

Well, I'm doing NA-T conversion and I was just looking at the intercooler and thought 'gosh that thing is ugly'. lol

We tested it and it holds air, has no leaks, and flows good.

Just looks ugly. lol
