I already tried searching a good bit, but I am swapping a 7mgte into my car in a few weeks. I need to know how many/what size intercooler clamps I need for the stock setup. Thanks!

Pretty sure they are 2.5 on the uppers. 4 for those.

The tb are 2.75 and 2 of those.

I never stock lower pipe but i think those are 2.25. DOnt quote.

In the fender should be about 2.5.

\Hope that helps./

Yea thanks man! Maybe someone will know a little more about the fender and lower. Already put the TB ones on. Just need everything from the 3000 pipe to the turbo.

They might all be 2.25. Measure the end of the 3000 pipe and then add like a lil more than a 1/4 They might all be the same.

The stock lower hose has 2 hoses and 1 metal pipe so it would be 4 clamps on the lower.

Might as well just get a hard pipe kit.

I just measured and the stock IC is 2 inches on both sides. If anyone else knows for sure what the rest of the measurements are I can go ahead and order the rest. The IC piping is out with the engine which is like 45 mins from here =/

Any final word on this? 4 at top are 2.5 the IC itself is 2?? doesn't sound right... and the turbo to IC is 2.5???

If you have the piping, measure it, it's the easiest way. The stock worm gear clamps are stronger than most worm clamps as well.

There are a LOT of different part numbers for the clamps if that indicates anything. Showing 8 different part numbers and there are 12 clamps total (not including the accordian hose stuff).

werd... It's about time I get down under there and get a good look at my piping... last time I checked (about two weeks ago) the piping was ROCK hard so I shied away from even attempting to remove them lest I ruin them completely, but now that many of my hoses (no IC ones, but I fear they may go soon too) have cracked, I have a real need to replace them... long story short I think the path that makes most sense for me right now is to give the ebay ones a shot since they ARE the only providers of the hoses I need (excepting the stealership... if I had that kinda money I'd just do the driftmotion kit. Another reason I don't want to do that is I just want to maintain my 7m and keep it running smooth until I can afford a 2j swap =D) Somehow I feel that poor quality silicone hoses is still better than cracked 23 year old petrified rubber >_<

Alright, after measurement, my conclusion is.... I have NFI see for yourself:

it was this way all around... is it 2.5 or 2.75??? I er to the side of 2.5... but then I look on driftmotion and they have 2.25 as the piping that connects to 3000 pipe and 2.75 from 3000 pipe to tb. So wtf??? is the piping supposed to be 2.25 all around but it just swells to 2.5 once on the fittings and stays that way after baking for 23 years? does this mean the clamps should be 2.25 all around??? or 2.5???? AGH!!!!!

Measure the 3k pipe.

I know the 2.75 one that dm has goes on very tight. I know the 2.75 tbolt clamps are hard to get on the stock rubber for the first time.

That piece in the pic might be 2.25 cause you add little less than 1/4in all around and then the clamp goes on.

2in for the turbo to intercooler seems right.

Alright just back from another bout of measuring. The 3000 pipe at narrow end (including the bead at lip) is 2.25in. At the tb end it is 2.75in EXCLUDING the bead, which is prob why the dm 2.75 coupler is really tight.

The pipes from the turbo to IC: pipe inside diam is slightly more than 2in. ranging from exactly 2in. to no more than 2 1/8in.
From the IC to the plastic hardpipe, it is 2 in at the IC and 2.25 at hardpipe and 2.25 all the way to 3000 pipe. Again these are all inside diameter's of the pipes.

So now that THAT is established (and it makes sense to me, correct me if I'm wrong, but a gradual increase of pipe diameter from turbo to intake manifold is perhaps a good thing? that Toyota did on purpose?), let's talk clamp sizes
Assuming clamp sizes are designated by INSIDE pipe diameter (which is what I am seeing off of driftmotion) we have 5 2.25in. clamps and 5 2in. clamps (4 uppers + 1 from hardpipe to IC)(4 lowers + 1 IC to hardpipe). *sigh finally I think we have arrived at a solid conclusion

Oh yeah and the accordion hose is 3in at intake and 2.75in at turbo

someone correct me if I'm wrong
