well, im gonna take the head off for a sec during the week or next week, just to clean up a bit. thing is, i was thinking about an MHG, but all the head machining work and such is such a big hassle that im not really in the mood for.

now, ive heard of other members using the stock HG with ARP studs torque'd down pretty tight (90 up) and working just fine. would that be completely fine to hold just around 15psi max (maybe 16) once every 2 months?

ah great! so the rumors may be true after all. im gonna give it a try, just so i can tell everyone i kicked their asses with an almost stock motor aside from studs and a shimmed oil pump.

Mine didn't blow up until 20psi on an upgraded CT. For several months.

Of course, at that point it blew up rather completely. :)
lol, it was time for it to kick the bucket eh? good thing my engine got rebuilt around 2 years ago and only has around...... no more than 30k miles since then. might even be exaggerating with that number.... i should really fix the odometer.

Err... #2 ringland, piston surface, rings, stock headgasket, and #5 rod bearing was fried. And a radiator hose, the seals in my water pump, and something else that I can't recall offhand... I don't think the rod bearing was related, it had been like that for a while.
