stock HG max torque rating

Hey guys,

I'll be installing a stock-style Head gasket on my my 7mge after resurfacing the block and head and will be using ARP studs. Can somebody tell me the max torque rating I should be using? I've read about info on this for the metal headgaskets but not for stock headgaskets...we all know the toyota specified rating is far too low.

I would go 80ft lbs for arp studs reguardless of the type of gasket used.

thanks very much, was unaware if the stock headgasket had a point which could be damaged from too much pressure.

More the aluminum head being damaged.

I went with 75ft lbs on mine. I suspect under that pressure the HG will crush/compress a little more then specified. I believe the Toyota spec for the HG once installed (according to their headbolt torque specs) is 1mm, I may be wrong on that.
