Stock fuel feed hard line OD is 5/16. I upgraded to 3/8, 6AN fittings. I just went out with my caliper to double check for you.

I hope you never go to a drag strip with that setup as you will not pass inspection and more than likely get banned on the spot. That is highly unsafe setup to be running fuel inside the cabin.

Well my plans are to eventually go with a fuel cell, Lines can be plumed inside for that. I still have to build a "fire wall" and cover for it. I've seen many fuel cell setups plumed inside hatches before:dunno:
But, needless to say, it's not done.

Yea, I know figgie, thats why I said:

Thats why I posted the pics, so you could see my plans.
But thanks for your concern.

yeah, these guys are right... i personally wouldnt even allow that setup to exist in my personal car without the firewall. it is a very innovative/creative way to solve stock fuel line issues.

however, i think there is enough clearance under the trunk floor to have a Parker steel 90* fitting brazed to the fuel pump hangar to accomodate real 6AN fuel line.

Hard line is supposed to be 3/8" ID and a hair larger than that on the OD. this way, a Soft line labeled as 3/8" will have an ID a hair smaller than that, so it creates a tight fit over the 3/8" hardline... thats why -6AN hose is NOT Truely 6/16" ID; its meant to fit snugly over a 3/8" hardline...

but, that said, i had no idea that the stock MK3 line was so gay that its not EVEN a true 3/8" ID... guess ill have to stick with twin -6 feed lines and shitcan the stock fuel line.

Yea, I'm not 100% happy with the set up. I was originally going to mount everything under the body, similar to stock. But after I re plumbed the tank, the fittings nor the stainless hose would fit between the tank and the body. So, I thought I would just go ahead and plumb it for the future fuel cell set up. And not really drive it too much until it was fully done. Now, I may still move it to under the car, and re plumb the pump lid again in a more creative way. Seeing as it my be awhile before I go with the fuel cell. (after doing this, plans came up to move out of state and I will have to drive it for an extended period of time) The only problem is getting the -6AN stainless line to fit in the small gap between the tank and body. But we will see, It's not my daily, so I can play around with it.

And just to make it clear, I agree, the set up as it stands is NOT safe. I'm sorry if anyone thought I was saying that this set up is the way to go, with no other mods. I only posted the pic because the issue was upgrading to larger lines, thats all.

yeah, good lookin out.

ill admit, it looks pretty sweet though. i also thought about putting the fuel cell in the hatch... but im worried about it becoming a projectile in an accident. ive seen pictures of muscle cars that had cells in the trunk after accidents. the cell retaining straps had ripped the bolts thru the floor of the trunk and the fuel cell hit the trunk lid and the top rear corners of the cell put massive dents in it... this could be a bad thing in a hatchback. id only be comfortable with it under the car, really.

then, with the stock tank out of the way, i can put Twice Pipes on dis Beetch, Mang!
