I want to polish my stock exhaust tips, because they are getting dull and dirty. I think that they are chrome, but I was hoping that someone could confirm this for me before I use chrome polish on them.
Thanks,
Gavyn

Today, when I was at the Toyota dealer I asked if he could look up if they were chrome. He did look it up and said that they are chome, so now I just need to polish them.:naughty:

Today, I polished them with TurtleWax Chrome Polish and Rust Remover. There was alot of splattered tar on them so I used WD-40 and Bug and Tar Remover to get that off, and then I put two coats of wax on them.
Here are a few pictures of the results.

This is what they looked like before.

I was suprised that the chrome polish even took off all of the black stuff on the inside of them. (left is polished, right is untouched)

I didn't put them on the car yet, but I sat them on there. I think that they look alot better.

looks good how long did it take?

Thanks. If I had not taken breaks, and would have known before I started that WD-40 takes off tar it probably would have taken me two hours to do both. The hardest part was getting all of the tar, and the caked on black stuff off. The grime that was on the outside of the tips came off really easy with the chrome polish. The stuff works really good considering that it was only $2 at Wal-Mart.

Nice work, it's the details that will set you apart from the crowd.

Yeah I know. It was just one of those little things that bothered me so I took care of it, and it no longer bothers me and it looks good.
