Stock BOV, vent it to the atmosphere or not?

I was wondering if you vent the stock BOV to the atmosphere, would you hear it, would it sound decent, and if you plug the vacuum line to the intake manifold, would that allow it to function ok? Would this cause problems, or is it a good thing to do? Thanks.

nope. it is a poppet type bypass valve and is open under vac. if you want to run open vent you need a real bov.

as indicated, the stock BPV is designed to fluctuate between open and closed at idle. unless you want stumbling problems, vaccuum leaks, and a world of chasing your tail headaches, don't do it.

by the way, a quick search would have yeilded you this same answer. it's in the reference section.

It does sound good. But you might have a problem with stumbling and stalling while not in boost.
