Stock boost guage work with 1jz?

my chasis is an N/A model with Turbo cluster with the 1jz... i'm still trying to get the 1jz running but i'm curious if the boost guage will get a signal from the map sensor or something... the reason i ask is if the guage won't work for me then i can put the volt meter from my N/A cluster in there.

i did do a search for "stock boost guage work with 1jz" and other things along those lines and nothing useful... if i missed it go ahead and ream me only if you provide useful information!!!

Stock boost gauge will work, it's on a different sensor though, near the cruise control stuff already in the car. Honestly though, why? Not only is the stock gauge extremely slow to react, doesn't show vacuum, and only reads up to ~8psi (less than stock 1j with exhaust btw), it reads a bit low as well, compared to the Autometer one I have hooked up.

stock boost guage works, but you will not get an accurate boost reading on it since the 1J will be around 12 psi stock, so ur guage will constantly be reading +8 lol, anyway its best to put in the voltmeter there and run an aftermarket guage on a pod or something for best results.

sooooo you both answered my question, so what your saying is, let me get this right in my case guage will not work because i didn't have a turbo model supra so i don't have the "sensor" running to my cluster to begin with.

again the only reason i asked is becasue i was more curious as to if it would work.
