Since the 1JZ uses just a light for low oil pressure indication, does this mean the sender is just a on / off switch ? turns off when say 6 psi is reached ? Or does it work differently and it could be used to power a guage.

It is an oil pressure switch.

You need to re-use your old 7m sender, via an extended line or elbow to help it clear the AC bracket.

You will use the same yellow/black wire that goes to the switch, which matches the yellow/black wire in the dash for oil pressure.

Any idea where I can get a pipe to extend it??

use the rubber upper brake hose off your clip.it will thread into the block and the sender will thread into it

The sender hole in the block is threaded with 1/8 BSPT which looks like pipe thread but it is different. I used an autometer adapter, 1/8 bspt to 1/8 npt part number # 2269, then a 1/8 pipe thread to -4 an adapter, then to a short 8-12" long premade braided hose then another -4 an to 1/8 pipe adapter then screwed in the autometer oil pressure sending unit.

Using the hose allows you to put the sender where ever you want it, because there is no room to put the Autometer sender in the stock location. I ended up zip tying the sender to the hard coolant pipe just behind the oil filter unit, I will try to find some pics of the setup.

Thanks , thats were i figured it would probably go =) I ended up just using a break line to use the oil pressure light switch hole and yes I had to ground it for it to work.

it's a big hollow bolt that bolts the oil filter housing and oil cooler to the block

How do you go about grounding the sender? I attached my sender into my greddy oil filter relocation kit, I have continuity and power and the damn thing still wont work. Maybe I just have to ground it then?

when u install the 98 tt union bolt, do you need to bend that coolant line the connects to the oil cooler/oil filter or will it clear it? b/c i bought one and i haven't had the urge to install the thing since it looks like it wouldn't clear enough for the sending unit
