How in the hell can they sell a steering wheel for $35.00, and why would you want to put one of the most important parts of your car and your life in the hands of a thirty five dollar steering wheel. I don't know if it will work or not, but I'd never drive over fifty if you did manage to get it on there.

Ebay doesn't suck. It's got a few people that sell junk on there that makes it bad for others. I mean some people actually sell complete removeable steering wheel kits on there for thirty five dollars..............:biglaugh:

Send the seller a question and ask him if it will fit.

Ugg, I don't know how far I would trust that, then again some stuff that comes out of china is like a diamond in the rough, but for the most part its shit.

Get CK to get you a Momo with hub.

ohh come on its a steering wheel, not a complex mechanical part. Its got a rim and a hub, what exactly are you proposing would go wrong? Faulty instulation would be more of a concern than quality of product.

I bought a similiar wheel for my RX7. Looked and felt great (would have been better if I had power steering in that car :nono:) The real question is if the hub fits the steering shaft. I dont know if MR2 and Supra are the same.

edit: realizing that is a quick release unit would make me a little more leary of it. Do a little research on the "BOSS JDM TYTE YO" hub and go from there.

Dang that is cheap. It will work. I think hub and quick release should be fine but I bet that wheel will feel like ass.

why do you say that? because its made out of "- High Quality PVC Leather w/JDM Red Stitching" (otherwise known as pleather) :sarcasm: And just what is JDM stitching really?

The one I got for a similiar price was actual leather and was listed as RX7 compatible. Keep looking.

Or you could buy one of the '88 wheels I refinished in top quality leather for $35 + $30 shipping, guaranteed to fit. Considering I spent 6 hrs sewing it, maybe I should move to China for that price, heh. On a serious note, now that I have a '90 Soup, it's redundant, hence the super low price.

And a nice jerk or pot hole that turns your wheels hard enough that makes you correct very quickly and forcefully, and you have Chinese metal that is brittle, don't come whining when your car is in the ditch and your holding the steering wheel that was once attached to the car.

Ever wonder why they use a thick ass bolt to hold on the stocker?

What kind of steering problems does your car have that makes the steering wheel jerk out of your hands? Last I checked Supras all had power steering as a base option. I think you are exagerating just a tad and making generalizations when you ASSUME that just because it comes from China its no good and will fall apart on first use. While I agree that some things require more scrutiny I have a hard time believing that a stamped steel steering wheel suddenly becomes dangerous just because it was manufactured in China. Do you have any statistics that show or report on steering wheel failures from cheap ebay sources or are you relying on witchcraft and hysteria? Like I said, I might suspect the quick release hub, but worrying about the wheel itself is silly.

of course, thats just my opinion.

Any chance you are able to do the airbag'd mkIII steering wheels? I would enjoy some new leather at a great price.

As far as the safety goes, that is pretty cheap for a steering wheel WITH a quick release hub. I would hate for it to quick release at the least opportune time. Other quick release hubs and wheels seem to be more expensive, personally, I would go with a tried and proven quick release hub, that is if I HAD to have one. Remember that in most cases, you get what you pay for. This is a critical and integral part in your safely getting from point A to point B, not to mention everyone else's safety.

Hope this helps.

Pete, the steering wheels may be fine. I love to drive fast, and I don't want my life hanging in the balance by a thirty five dollar steering wheel. It may sound stupid, but I've never claimed to be one of the smart ones on here. I'd rather pay more money for one that others have tried and had great results from.
