Steering gear...

Anyone ever changed one out... I never have... but I've just about come to the conclusion that the problem with my front end is the steering gear... b\c I get a little bit of a jerk when turning the wheels left or right... and then another jerk when straightening out... after the initial jerk it drives fine...

Anyways, anyone know how hard it is?

you mean the steering rack??
Its a PIA- but not hard
the outer tie rods
the power steering lines ( hard to get to)
4 large bolts, 2 on each side. the bolts go to half circle pieces that clamp the rack in place. The TSRM has some good pictures.

However, check the steering linkage fromthe steering wheel down to the rack, it could be that the linkage is binding or somehow worn. That cold be the problem.
