I'm having trouble cutting the line and connecting the -an fittings. I'm sure plenty of you have done it. Please help!!! Right now I've tryed taping the line and cutting it with a dremel and a hacksaw, niether has worked well. It frays (sp?) all over and cuts my hands up:3d_frown: thanks guys

z1turbo You need to buy some of that packing tape for boxes. Wrap the section you wish to cut, and get a metal hack saw and go to town. Or if you an air grinder that works well too.

Bingo.

Tape it up, and you'll notice the cut stays straight and fresh. Are you doing it from rail to tank? Or just from rail to existing hardlines? OH! And pics of your work:icon_bigg

Or an electric chop saw.

The hack saw usually ends up fraying it all to hell.

Nate: This isn't the easiest thing in the world to do... you will have to wiggle the fitting up over the hose with some effort.

Yes, as mentioned, tape the area to be cut. What I cut mine with was a dremel with a "fiber glass" metal cutting disk. I also used an angle grinder with a metal blade for some of the cuts.

Hint: Don't cut all the way through the rubber line. Just go around the out side and cut the SS braid. Clean off the metal shavings with brake cleaner and then cut the rubber with a razor or snips. This keeps the metal shavings out of the line. After you cut the piece clean it out with cleaner also, to make sure any shavings that might get in are washed out.

Actually use a ZIP Tie, crank it nice and tight, then cut-off-wheel the end off
then when you're ready to put it into the AN fitting, pull the zip tie off, dip it
in motor oil and it'll slide right in with little fuss.

I did it 3 days ago .

I was a little skeptical and definitly curious about the zip tie method. I did exactly what you said and it worked wonerfully. First try, no stray frays, no cuts. Thanks sooo much. Peice of cake now!!!
