before you go and replace your started
lock then unlock your doors.
if your alarm went off then it won't let u turn the car on.
sounds strange i know, but it could be the problem
used to do this to me.

I agree, Check the battery for proper voltage and cranking amps..Also check the battery terminals for corrosion first..

A quick test to determine a bad starter is to have someone try and start the car for you while you lightly tap the starter housing with a hammer. If it starts cranking, then your starter is most likely dying..

The code 51 should have nothing to do with the starting problem but you should fix that also.. Search for "code 51" to figure out how to determine what is causing the code and how to make it go away..:).

Since this is your first post, I will point you to a helpful thread on code 51.

Welcome to SM. Please let us know what the problem was when you get it fixed..

What's up with that gigantenormous pipe on the end of your ass???? It looks like your'e trying to melt a hole for it in the body molding. j/k

Are you talking to me? Thats a Greddy SP. Its rare, hard to find, and one of the quietest exhausts you'd ever find. Its not "Huge" for our cars, you're not in the civic forums anymore bud.

Don't put out blatant misinfo like that. You aren't in the honda forums bud.

Blatant misinfo? So there is no possibility that it can be the starter?

There are a few things it can be. Battery, Alternator, Fuse, or Starter. If the battery was bad it wouldn't hold a charge at all in that case never turn on. He said it turns on sometimes. If it was the alternator it wouldn't charge at all and never turn on. If it was a fuse again no way for power to go the the alternator and the car wouldn't turn on at all. So more likely its gonna be the starter.

Try recharging your battery just to be sure, if thats not the problem then its most likely gonna be your starter.

I think we all know where we are......, but I didn't take it offensively. It was honestly the largest mother f ucking pipe I have ever seen on a supra. Just because I said that didn't mean I didn't like it. So, yet again...., I'm sorry if offended you. just grow a sense of humor and all willl be cool.

Most likely doesnt do the trick all the time

you know those things that give the power to your starter? those wire thingys? sometimes theres a voltage drop in them. If the battery starts to get acid or corrosion or whatever on it, the acid can travel all the way through the wires to the starter. This causes resistance in the wires. When you send current through a resistance, what do you get? a voltage drop. To know whats wrong with a car you have to know how it works :icon_bigg. Check cranking amps, check for voltage drops, check for corrosion, Check open circuit voltage of the battery.

I meant if everything else was fine with the car. Of course there could always be crappy wires or bad harness, but all that is fine those I mentioned above could be the problems.

If it clicks and doesnt turn over its your starter.

There is a biiiiig difference between maybe a starter and is a starter. His battery sounds discharged. Clicking is almost never the starter. A single loud click is often the starter.
