Hello I'm new to the supra world so I'm probly gonna need a lot of help along the way ..anyways I just got done doing the headgasket job on my 7mgte... the car will crank fine but will not start I have fuel on my plugs and I'm almost positive I have it in right time but one thing I noticed this morning was that the wire plug to the cps ..2 of the wires were pulled out ... I'm guessing this could be part of my problem ?? Is there a way to repair it or even just cut the plug and straight wire it ?? Thanks for any help

Those two CPS wires are definitely causing the problem. I had a very similar problem recently, where after I fixed my BHG it would crank but not fire. The wires at the CPS connector were bad. What I ended up doing was cutting both connectors off and putting a new one in. I would advise against straight wiring it.

ok i know i was advised not to straight wire the cps ..... but..... i did just to see if it would fix my problem.. when i did this my tach started to move when i cranked it but still no start... so i once again checked my timing and pulled the cps out to "align" it as i read in another post when i got all my timing marks lined up i went to start it and the tach doesnt move!!!??? so im still stumped

Did you possibly wire them wrong? I'll let someone else help you with that one, I don't know enough to give a helpful answer.

The CPS uses the same connector for the ignitor and other various electronics. If you know of any parts cars around, go cut one off. I'm also sure someone on here would have one for sale.

Ok update I got my cps temporary wired up and refine my timing... the car will start now but barely stays running and spits and sputters quite a bit at about 500 rpms ...vacuum lines maybe ?? Or ???
