Good morning everybody. I am trying my best to finish up this project of mine and have run into a little hiccup and was hoping to get a little help from someone here as opposed to opening up my body harness a bit if I don't have to.

This is for the starter wiring. I have the harness plugged into it and now am left with the two wires. One from the battery that should go to the starter terminal itself and then one for ground. The problem is neither of mine are labeled or have any cap on them that would indicate which is the positive.

I could strip it back and figure it out, but I'd rather not if anyone can help me. One of the wires has a almost foam surround piece near the terminal that is about 4-6" long and one does not. I am assuming based on how the wires are laying in there that the one with the foam on it is the positive but I don't want to hook that up wrong!

Also where is the factor place for that ground? I know it may not really matter as I'm sure it just needs to be grounded to the block but I know it doesn't go up on the intake manifold with the other grounds and I"ve already got the one on the bell housing and then one back at the rear tranny mount. Just trying to do it right!

If anyone has a picture or can help I would greatly appreciate it. I haven't put one of these together in almost 8 years so I'm a little rusty :)

One is longer. The longer one goes to the starter.

Also all you need a volt meter and do a ohm test from each side of the cable.

The one with the "foam" is positive. The factory attach point for the battery negative is a tapped hole to the rear of the AC compressor bracket. An alternate location is the rearmost bracket attach bolt. If there's any question hvyman's advice is valid and should be taken.
