Start problems

a couple of weeks ago the owner went to try and start the car but after two turn overs the engine stoped, its not the starter cause the starter spins, He thinks there may be something thats binding the engine between the enige and tranny. The tranny is the original W54 5spd n/a tranny. The engine is new (swapped in a 7MGTE) Im not really femmilliar with this problem so i need some feed back from you guys? what might be the problem?!

If you need any more info ill get it for ya and post it up as soon as i have it.

Does the starter make a winding sound like its trying to kick over but it just dont wanna start ???
