Stall after decel/stop.

well sometimes when the car is warm and i down shift to come to a stop, using the compression to slow down, after stopping it idles really low and sometimes stalls. only if i do it harder, more drastic, than normal daily driving. any ideas? thanks.

mods: fresh rebuild, intake, exhaust. '88 5spd N/A.

Dashpot check, vacuum leaks. Good place to start.

The dashpot is a little plunger system that keeps the throttle plate from suddenly closing completely. It should hold it above idle for several seconds, then bring the idle down. It should also be mounted to the throttle body near the throttle linkage.
