They obviously cut costs somewhere. I'm sure labor is the big player there but I would also assume quality standards and practices are below par as well as material quality. This is based on their 304 stainless exhaust manifolds we've all seen. (junk IMO)

I'm just not sure how tough it is to screw up a part like this though.

I paid $25 bucks for mine on ebay new, its adjustable with a guage and it works fine. Its not that they "must have cut costs" somewhere its more of the name brand then anything elce IMO. Its dumb to think because your paying the dealer alot more money for a part that it must be alot better. I got a turbo for you, ill charge you 5 grand it must be really nice huh? ::hah::

This is the one like I have

I have never used one, and I am not going to stick up for them, but I do know a little something about wholesale pricing and the way that soom manufactures work.

The Regulator is a spitting image of the Aeromotive unit, and I know that Aeromotive will sell wholesale and without any labeling at a significantly lower cost, remember the Aeromotive unit is fairly cheap to begin with. The lines are stainless braid (you can not use silicone with reusable AN fittings). The line and fittings are pretty cheap also when bought in bulk. So breaking down the cost, I doubt that they would have anymore then $100.00 into it and yet the Buy It Now price is $150.00. $50.00 profit for literaly no work.

I have looked into doing this myself with a number of manufactures, but the buy-in price/cost is to high for me right now.

Again, I am not saying that it is an Aeromotive unit, but you cant knock something without trying it just of who its from.

im planning on running, i agree with what Chris i saying, wholesale companies get money cause people dont wanna spend the 100 extra for a brand name and just care about performance. Well look at the BOV's for example. My friend had ordered a Greddy Type S replica cause his didnt work no more (the real deal) and we opened them up. entirely identical just at wholeale.
